Zonegreen is hosting informative and educational seminars at stand D17 throughout the three-day exhibition, held May 10-12 at London’s Olympia. They will discuss the lack of reduction in labor-injury damage in the industry over the past five years, resulting in deposits accounting for 20% of all injuries, while demonstrating how technology can help mitigate human error in depot environments.
The company will also showcase its flagship Depot Personnel Protection System (DPPS). It allows the safe and efficient control of rail vehicles in maintenance facilities and provides physical protection for depot personnel. Its hardware and software have been independently certified to meet the performance requirements of SIL 2 – an assessment of the reliability of the relative risk reduction provided by a safety system.
“There is a lot of research going into the continued development of the DPPS and we want to share our findings with Railtex delegates, with the aim of encouraging greater awareness and focusing on depot worker safety. We believe that applying robust technology to this inherently hazardous environment can significantly reduce the risks it poses to personnel, while improving operational efficiency.
“Because we designed the DPPS as an out-of-the-box solution, it can be easily configured to each depot’s unique layout, which means every installation comes with the guarantee of SIL 2 certification.”
