Castlemaine State Festival and Good Shed Arts have announced a new series of six two-day workshops offering essential inspiration, skills and support to artists of all kinds who are shaping or rethinking their professional practice.

The workshop series kicks off on Thursday, August 4 with a session dedicated to developing your values ​​and vision to create a foundation for your practice.

Creative Vision – knowing yourself, working with others and planning to maintain your practice will be facilitated by Lucy Mayes, an experienced leadership development and community engagement professional, published author and sought-after speaker, and will also include a panel discussion on cooperation.

Other workshops in the program, spread over the rest of 2022, will cover digital content creation, publishing principles and techniques, your online presence, delivering effective workshops, and business and administrative skills.

When designing the course content, Castlemaine State Festival Creative Learning Producer Kate Stones focused on the skills that practicing artists would benefit from the most.

“Goods Workshops are designed to provide artists with a toolkit of skills they can use throughout their professional careers,” says Kate.

“Each workshop is self-contained, or you can commit to the entire program for a significant discount.

“We are also happy to offer a payment plan for artists who wish to attend.”

Workshops are held Thursdays and Fridays at Goods Shed Arts in the Castlemaine Goods Shed, 10am-3pm with lunch provided.
