BUDGAM: Today, the Srinagar Anti-Corruption Bureau held a seminar in the Sheikh ul Alam hall of Budgam under the umbrella of “Vigilance Awareness Week” observed from 31 October 2022 to 06 November 2022.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, SF Hamid was the chief guest and SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem, ADC Budgam Dr. Nasir, CEO Budgam, DIO Budgam were also present on the occasion.
Also, Chief Superintendent of Police Abdul Waheed Shah, AIG Anti-Corruption Bureau Headquarters, Dr. Zahoor Wani and SSP Anti-Corruption Bureau along with other ACB Srinagar officers addressed the rally and talked about corruption, its harmful impact on society and how it can be checked and eradicated from society.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation was delivered to the audience by Dr. Zahoor Wani regarding various anti-corruption acts, provisions and procedures.
On the occasion, DC said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau is an institution whose credibility is intact and works hard to fight the scourge of corruption. He said that it is not only the duty of the administration and the police to fight against this cause, but it is the moral duty of every citizen to fight against corruption.
He said the ultimate motive of every citizen should be no corruption at all costs. He said that transparency and accountability are two tools to eradicate this evil.
He added that bribery does not mean being paid only in cash, but it also means rendering an undue favor to an ineligible beneficiary. He said the people of Budgam should actively use all institutions such as the district administration, police administration and anti-corruption bureau so that this evil is completely eradicated from the society.
The DC informed the public about the “Jan Baghidari” portal where, with just one click, an ordinary man gets comprehensive information about the programs, projects and works related to his region and belonging to different departments. He said “the public needs to be proactive and vigilant so that there is more transparency and no corruption.”
On the occasion, SSP Budgam said that there should be zero tolerance for corruption in any society.
The ADC said the popular masses are the eyes and ears of anti-corruption bodies and should help make India free from corruption.
Later, the contact details of the Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the public for registering corruption complaints.
