UAE invites 300 young international journalists to participate in workshops – News
The program will take place during the Global Media Congress from November 15 to 17
The Global Media Congress (GMC) Senior Organizing Committee, organized by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with Emirates News Agency (WAM), has announced the launch of the “Global Young Media Empowerment Programme” , the largest training program of its kind, which will take place during the first GMC, scheduled for November 15-17, 2022.
The official news agency of the United Arab Emirates will invite 300 young journalists from all over the world to participate in various workshops.
The more than two dozen workshops at Congress will provide in-depth training for young scribes in a wide range of skills and professions, such as digital and solutions journalism, AI and neuroscience technology in media, verification facts, the metaverse, scripting. , countering misinformation, creating audio content, and a host of other vital topics.
Placed under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event will host an exhibition and a specialized conference focusing on the latest developments and the future of the media sector.
Speaking about his organization’s decision to send a large number of young journalists with three to five years of professional experience to attend the event, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, General Manager of WAM and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of GMC, said it aims to impart knowledge to the next generation of media professionals on the latest technological and innovative advancements in the media field.
“We do not see this as a one-time initiative. Our goal is to sponsor similar attendance at subsequent editions of the World Media Congress. We have scheduled around 30 workshops where participants will learn the most important techniques and skills required in young people looking for a bright future in the media industry,” he explained.
Explaining the reason for bringing in journalists from a wide range of countries and continents, Al Rayssi added that in a globalized world, the fair dissemination of knowledge and expertise is crucial to creating a level playing field.
“We consider it our moral duty to provide rich exposure to the young men and women who will land in Abu Dhabi at our invitation. Our hope is that they will return to their respective countries feeling as though they have had an experience fruitful learning experience, which they can take to their workplace, contributing to the growth of the media sector in their country.”
“The UAE has always given the highest priority to its role as a global citizen in various fields. We emulate the same model in the field of media. We look forward to interacting with such a large group of young journalists representing several platforms, countries, continents and cultural and linguistic contexts,” he concluded.
The conference provides an opportunity for various media institutions to discuss partnerships and collaborative ventures that will strengthen the development of the media sector, ensuring its long-term sustainability and the continued delivery of strong, reliable and highly credible content.
