The IAF will organize its first synthesis seminar

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force is conducting the first Warfare and Aerospace Strategy Program (WASP) which culminates in a Capstone Seminar at the Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi on June 24, 2022.
The seminar will be held under the aegis of the College of Air Warfare and the Center for Air Power Studies. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, will deliver the keynote address on this occasion which is attended by senior officers from the three services, air power specialists, academics from the leading think tanks and top colleges in the country.
This Capstone Seminar is intended to introduce the learning objectives of the WASP and to assist IAF management in validating the desired outcomes of the program. Participants will present papers on contemporary topics concerning the application of air power in recent conflicts and the evolution of doctrinal precepts that establish the dominant role of air power in national security.
The WASP was conceptualized by the IAF with the aim of creating a cadre of mid-career airpower practitioners with strategic acumen and a deep understanding of the history and theory of warfare. It aims to enrich the doctrinal vision of the participants and to cultivate their ability to argue effectively in strategy. This will further strengthen participants’ ability to connect diverse thoughts and theories on the whole-of-government approach to governance.
The course was hosted at CAW, the IAF’s premier institute for air power studies.
