Technology and Business Seminar: The Tribune India
Amritsar: The Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College held a seminar on “Role of Information Technology in Business Management” to familiarize students with IT skills (IT) necessary for optimal business performance. DAV University, Jalandhar, Dean Manik Sharma, keynote speaker, explained the role of information technology as a tool to easily monitor and manage businesses. In his talk, he discussed ways to improve communication and workplace skills with participating students. Over 100 students have completed the program.
PSEB organizes the ‘Yogasana’ contest
The Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) has organized a district-level ‘Yogasana’ competition for boys at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan SL Public School, Amritsar. The school’s team won the competition with six gold medals each in the under-14, 17 and 19 categories, as well as two silver and three bronze. Of the 18 gold medalists, 17 were selected for the Punjab School State Competition. Senior Director, Dr. Anita Bhalla congratulated the participants and their trainer, Sanjay Kumar, who guided the students to victories.
SRA School Celebrates Dasehra
Shri Ram Ashram Sen Sec School celebrated Dasehra festival here today. The morning assembly began with cultural performances, including plays, songs and dances, by the students of Class VII. The students learned lessons about honesty, respect and obedience through the Ramayana. Principal Neetu Sharma advised the students to follow the path of truth. She added that celebrating festivals exudes a sense of belonging and devotion.
GNDU declares the results
Guru Nanak Dev University has announced the results of B Design (Multimedia) for Semesters II, IV and VI and Diploma Course in Computer Applications (Full-time) for Semester II. “The results have been uploaded to the university’s website,” said Palwinder Singh, professor in charge of the exams.

MBA students visited the manufacturing unit of Paras Spices Pvt Ltd. The company meets the requirements of manufacturers of Maggi Masala noodles, under the Orika Spices label. BCA students visited Amritsar Swadeshi Textile Corporation Pvt Ltd. B Com and BBA students visited NRC Industries Ltd, manufacturers of rubber and steel conveyor belts for use in thermal power stations, heavy industries and airports for the transfer of heavy items. .
Pattern, rangoli making contest
The Department of Mathematics, DAV College, organized “Model Making” and “Rangoli Making” competitions to deepen the learning of mathematical concepts. Postgraduate and graduate students prepared templates and rangoli using colors and stationery showcasing creativity and artistry. In the rangoli competition, the duos, Sukhman and Saloni, Anjali and Sunaina, Shruti and Navpreet, won the first, second and third positions respectively. In model making, Harpreet, Ruchit and Bhavika won the first, second and third positions respectively.
