Comments from the Pivot team and makers:
“Our workshops offer craft enthusiasts a chance to not only create their own beautiful jewelry, but also a chance to learn from our Master Maker Jason.
Jason was part of our first cohort of Makers delivered to a North London hostel in 2019 and over the years has honed his craft as an excellent teacher.
All sales from these workshops go towards continuing our support of inspiring people like Jason, by funding our training programs and providing employment opportunities,” said Pivot founder Alice Moxley.“Mental health in these places [hostels] crazy. The longer you stay there, the less likely you are to get these work opportunities. But through its programs, Pivot offers people living in hostels a chance to build their confidence and skills, so they can work to find housing and employment. All profits generated from our workshops will go towards running our next training program and supporting our growing team, which hires directly from the pool of program graduates. As someone who has gone through the program, I know what a lifesaver it has been for me,” said Jason, workshop and program manager and program graduate.
