Aligarh: Expert speakers discussed ways to empower Indian youth with skills that make them more employable and productive at the National Muslim University of Education Department of Education’s online seminar. ‘Aligarh (AMU).
Professor SunitaVithal Rao Magre (Head of Department of Education, University of Mumbai) emphasized the importance of quality education and instilling skills in young people.
She mentioned the goals of the National Education Policy -2020 with reference to skills development and talked about Industry 4.0 and Global Citizenship.
Professor Sunita also highlighted the need for digital skills for youth development.
Professor Shamim Ahmad (Department of Education, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh) deliberated on the role of curriculum in skills development and spoke from the perspective of generalists and specialists on skills development among young people.
He highlighted the role of ICT in skills development and the need for new approaches and innovative research.
Dr. Dinesh Chahal (School of Education, Central University of Haryana) shared examples of good leadership and effective administrative roles.
In the presidential address, Prof. Mirza Asmer Beg (Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences) spoke about various government initiatives that are empowering young Indians with skills to make them more employable and productive.
Prof. Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui (Seminar Director and Chairman, Department of Education, AMU) gave the welcome speech and discussed the need for skills development to make a large number of young Indians industry relevant.
Professor Nasrin extended the vote of thanks and Dr Shazia Mansoori led the program.
Researchers also presented papers on the role of skills, skills development in youth, the skills development program and other topics.
