Seminar on secure Internet organized at the AIUB
A seminar on Safe Internet for Academic Excellence was organized on Tuesday by the Association of Internet Service Providers of Bangladesh and the Department of Computer Science at American International University-Bangladesh in association with the AIUB Computer Club at Dhaka, according to a press release received Thursday. .
The main objective of the seminar was to enable the use of a safe Internet.
University Vice-Chancellor Carmen Z Lamagna chaired the event, while Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar attended as the chief guest.
Chairman and Director of ISPAB and COO of Optimax Communication Limited Md Emdadul Hoque, Director of ISPAB and Director and CEO of InfoLink Ltd Sakif Ahmed, Secretary General of ISPAB and Managing Director of KS Network Ltd Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan , Founder and Chairman of Nijer Bolar Moto Ekta Golpo Iqbal Bahar Zahid was present as special guests and the Dean of AIUB Faculty of Engineering, Prof. ABM Siddique Hossian was also present.
Professor Siddique Hossian discussed the program and facilities of IT sectors such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Blockchain, Iqbal Bahar Zahid shared the history and experience of his IT foundation. Sakif Ahmed described his computer background and discussed ESPAB features and plans, such as lounges, internship opportunities, and training sections. Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan talked about safe internet usage, cost and internet speed. Emdadul Haque spoke about the submarine cables, the switched capacity and the excellent service they provide.
Mustafa Jabbar talked about Digital Bangladesh, Bangabandhu satellite and 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks. He also touched on two-step verification and internet security at the end of his speech.
Carmen Z Lamagna shared some of her thoughts on a safe internet for the world. She presented badges and gifts to the guests and concluded the event.
