Sandpoint Announces Comp Plan Workshops
SANDPOINT — The city will hold a pair of open houses to provide information and gather community feedback on housing and neighborhoods regarding updates to its comprehensive plan.
“Sandpoint is at the point where infill development and redevelopment is needed to create housing, but this type of development is often met with neighborhood resistance,” said city planner Amy Tweeten. “Finding the balance between protecting the neighborhood’s quality of life and providing needed housing for current and future residents is the challenge as we move forward with the overall plan.
The purpose of the workshops is to inform residents of current regulations, identify opportunities for housing solutions, and gather feedback on where and what types of housing the community supports for integration into the overall plan and ultimately the future regulations.
The free format workshops will be held over two days, at two locations.
The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, October 26 from 1-7 p.m. at the Sandpoint Town Hall Council Chamber, 1123 Lake St. The second workshop will take place on Thursday, October 27 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Tango Community Room Café at Sandpoint Center, 414 Church St.
