High Performance Director Nadeem Khan addressed participants in the first half of the seminar and gave a presentation on the player tracking system.

The three-day review of the 2021-22 domestic cricket season ended on Wednesday with a day-long seminar involving the 24 head and assistant coaches of the Cricket Association’s six teams, the head of the Pakistan men’s national team, batting and assistant coach and national manager Muhammad Wasim.

High Performance Director Nadeem Khan addressed participants in the first half of the seminar and gave a presentation on the player tracking system.

The player tracking system has been in use for two seasons and aims to assess a player’s performance in an analytical way with the allocation of points.

Nadeem’s interactive presentation was followed by an in-depth evaluation and review session which was conducted by the Head Coach of the Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team, Saqlain Mushtaq. Head Coach Muhammad Wasim also spoke to the participants about the aims and objectives of national cricket and how the selection and playing strategies should be in tune with the needs and demands of the Pakistan men’s national cricket team. .

On Monday and Tuesday, the 24 coaches were interviewed individually by a three-member committee consisting of Shahid Mahboob (Head Hanif Mohammad High Performance Center Karachi) and NHPC coaches Umar Rasheed and Sajjad Akbar.

High Performance Director Nadeem Khan: “We have done extensive reviews at the end of the domestic cricket season for the past two years. This year’s review seminar again focused on a full season debrief with all 24 head and assistant coaches, Pakistan men’s team leader, assistant batting coach and head coach.

“We have carefully reviewed the player profiling process that we introduced to the system two years ago. Player profiling helps us determine a player’s performance, progress and shortcomings. Each player’s profile is built from the age group level, the coach talks to the players and agrees with them what is expected of them on and off the pitch and how they can progress in their playing career cricket.

“Over the past two years, we have managed to develop a robust player profiling system which has helped us immensely in tracking players in all aspects of their development. to further improve the system and how it can serve us well in the upcoming domestic and international cricket season I am glad that the coaches and the head coach of the men’s team are also present because the purpose of cricket national is to work closely and in alignment with the goals, objectives, targets and goals of the Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team.

Saqlain Mushtaq, Head Coach of the Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team: “It was a very fruitful and rewarding session for us as we all reiterated our aim to take Pakistani cricket to the top in all three formats. We identified areas for improvement, discussed the method and brand of cricket we want to play domestically and internationally and how we needed all stakeholders to be aligned with our ultimate goal.

“Our collective objective is to make Pakistan dominate at the international level and to achieve this, we have identified a set of criteria. Through constant recall, an aggressive style of play and strategy, we can surely achieve anything and everything and I am delighted that the coaches at national level as well as our relevant stakeholders are focused and determined and want to produce players who become world beaters.

Pakistan Men’s Coach Muhammad Wasim: “Domestic cricket around the world is organized in accordance with requirements at international level to ensure that the gap between the two is as small as possible. Over the past two years, we have run extremely competitive cricket seasons which have helped to improve both the player base and the performance of the national team. We were able to develop a national system based on quality with the reduced number of players, which helped to bridge the gap between domestic and international cricket.

“Each year we have carried out in-depth reviews and endeavored to collectively identify areas for improvement so that we all remain aligned. These reviews are extremely useful not only in reviewing a cricket season but also in planning the next cricket season and set new goals for coaches.

Abdul Rehman, head coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: “This evaluation process helps coaches review their own performance and assess where they stand in terms of achieving their goals and objectives while preparing for the upcoming season. These workshops and seminars are held in a cordial atmosphere where all the participants give their opinion frankly.

“This year too, we had detailed discussions that aimed to identify areas for improvement and align our collective goals and objectives. As we now begin our preparations for the next domestic season, this review will help us determine our plans, short and long term goals with the ultimate goal of making a healthy and meaningful contribution to the betterment of Pakistani cricket.
