Major renovation completed at Wild Horse Pass in Arizona
A $180 million upgrade has been completed at Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona, adding the new 205-room Sunrise Tower.
Construction took advantage of the downtime afforded by the pandemic, breaking ground in August 2020. The new 11-story Sunrise Tower is connected to the Sunset Tower, bringing the property’s total bedrooms to 447.
The renovated lobby entrance now features a new chandelier above the arrival area horse sculpture, and various works by artists from the Gila River Indian community now line the walls.
The resort has also upgraded its outdoor offerings with two new pools, the Oasis Pool and the Serenity Adult Pool. Additionally, the property now has 18,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and 7,000 square feet of outdoor event space.
Improving the restaurant and nightlife was a key part of the project. A glass elevator now takes guests to the rooftop, where Prime Shula’s Steak House serves dishes prepared by “Chopped” champ Demetrio Zavala. During dinner, you can take in views of the Estrella Mountains and Arizona sunsets. After dinner, the venue transforms into 11ven at Prime, known for its craft cocktails and lively DJs.
