Ludhiana | GCG organizes a seminar on the protection of the freedom of couples on the run

Senior Advocate Harsimrat Kaur was the speaker at the seminar held at GCG, Ludhiana, and she educated the students on the various protections and safe houses available for the safety of such couples.
As instructed by the District Legal Services Authority, the Women’s Safety and Legal Literacy Unit at the Government College for Girls held a seminar on Wednesday on protecting the life and liberty of runaway couples.
Senior Advocate Harsimrat Kaur was the speaker for the day and she educated the students on the different protections and safe houses available for the safety of these couples.
Kaur also informed the students about the services provided by the government and the High Court and encouraged them to adopt a positive mindset in order to eradicate stereotypes of caste, tribe and religion in society when choosing a a spouse.
The event ended with an interactive session, during which students’ questions were answered.

Kidney exchange case: HC upholds suspension of Ruby Hall Clinic’s organ transplant license
PUNE On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court suspended orders by the state health department to suspend the Ruby Hall Clinic’s organ transplant license. The ordinance was passed after the state health department suspended the hospital’s organ transplant license for six months in connection with a reported kidney exchange case in the city. The order was pronounced in open court, in the presence of the lawyers of the respective parties.

State approves extension of Swargate underground metro line to Katraj
On Wednesday, the state government approved the extension of the underground metro line from Swargate to Katraj and approved a share of Rs450.95 crore for the project. The Pune Municipal Corporation had authorized the extension of the underground metro railway, a distance of 5.4 km in September 2021 and sent a proposal for approval to the state government. The total cost of the project is Rs3,668 crore and it is expected to be completed by April 2027.

The minister files a complaint for extortion against the sister of the ex-partner
Mumbai Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde has filed an extortion complaint against his former partner’s sister for allegedly demanding ₹5 crore by threatening to defame him. She said she would post messages on social media that he had forced her to withdraw her rape complaint. In his complaint, the minister said that since 2004 he had been in a relationship with a woman, with whom he also had two children.
