Legacy workshops planned for Casper and Cheyenne | New
Considering your own heritage is the theme of AARP Wyoming sessions in Cheyenne and Casper. AARP Wyoming State Volunteer President Kate Sarosy will lead free Legacy events in Cheyenne on August 18 and Casper on September 14.
The Cheyenne Legacy Workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AARP Wyoming office in Cheyenne, located at 1800 Carey Ave. at the fourth floor. The Casper event will take place at the Casper Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is included in both workshops.
Become a wise elder
The Legacy Workshops are a one-day interactive workshop to become a wise elder by reviewing your life’s journey and harvesting the wisdom of your experiences to pass on as a legacy.
Many older people have grown up in fear of aging and the inevitable disabilities it brings. But most live longer and healthier lives. It offers adults the opportunity to age more consciously, explore personal development and spiritual growth, access the wisdom that comes with age, and live lives with more meaning and purpose.
Past participants have said of this workshop, “It made me think of things I really didn’t… It was mind-blowing. “I have nothing to compare to this workshop…it surpasses all the others.” “I appreciated being able to talk about human subjects at a certain stage of life and to share my ideas and my experiences”,
