Sopore (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]Jun 16 (ANI): The Jammu Kashmir Peoples Justice Front (JKPJF) has organized a one-day drug abuse awareness program at Hygam Government Higher Secondary School, Sopore, in Baramulla district, North Kashmir.
The program saw the participation of a large number of students, residents and parents.

The threat of drugs is spreading among the youths like a wildfire which has engulfed a large part of the budding youth of Kashmir and it has become imperative to control it before it is too late. The program aimed to sensitize the youth and members of society so that the very fabric of Kashmiri society could be saved from this curse.
In order to create awareness, JK Peoples Justice Front organizes such awareness programs from time to time. Among the dignitaries were SSP Sopore, ADC Sopore and Drug Abuse Specialist Dr.Fayaz Ahmad and JKPJF President Agha Syed Abbas Rizvi, Master Syed Shamsuddin, Moulana Abdul Kareem, Syed Agha Mujahid, Social Activist Mohd Ibrahim, Dr. Kamran and others were present. on occasion who spoke about drug addiction and its consequences.

SSP Sopore speaking on this occasion called on the people and parents to come forward so that the menace of drugs can be eradicated from society.
He said: “The J&K police have worked tirelessly to control and eradicate the threat of drugs in society, but the police cannot do anything alone, society must come forward and cooperate in this matter, only then is it possible. to overcome this curse”.
ADC Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Raina speaking on the occasion said: “The menace of drugs has marred the very fabric of our society, there is a need to control this menace lest it hit our particular society. , young people, we have to guide our youth properly and parents have to be very careful to keep an eye on their children.”
Ghulam Hussaien Majrooh, a social activist, also spoke at the event and addressed young people to come together to fight drug addiction and related ailments. In his address, Agha Syed Rizvi, President of JKPJF, said that armed militancy in J&K is decreasing but a new form of militancy is on the rise, in the name of drug terrorism, hosted by our neighboring country.
“It is a conspiracy hatched by the neighboring country to involve the young people of Kashmir and make them drug addicts, for their own interests. But, we are able and very well able to thwart the attempts of this anti-Kashmir agenda of the neighboring country. . , he said.
As a peaceful society, we will not allow these marginal elements to succeed, the activist added.
“Drug terrorism is a double-edged sword used by our neighbours. On the one hand it spoils our young people by making them drug addicts and on the other hand the money generated from drug trafficking is funneled into terrorism Thus it pushes the people of Kashmir into a vicious cycle of terrorism and drug addiction I humbly request the people of Kashmir to stay away from drugs and if anyone is affected by it, should approach the centers rehabilitation for detoxification. For the peace and development of Kashmir, we must take an oath: no to drugs, no to terrorism”, concluded the activist.
