JAMMU, April 22: An inter-college symposium was held on “Invest in Your Planet – Design your Future” at Govt College for Women Parade Ground Evanshi Sharma from GCW Parade got the first position while the second place was landed by Jatin Sharma of . Dogra Degree College while 3rd position went to Tarwinder Kour from GCW Parade. The event was chaired by Prof. SK Dhar, Organizer, IQAC.
A beautification campaign was organized in the college in which the students participated with great enthusiasm.
Next, Dr. Rakesh Atri, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, University of Jammu, who was the guest speaker, gave an interactive lecture on “Ozone – from discovery to recovery”.
He explained successful Ozone recovery in very simple terms with a well-articulated presentation. Harsha Gupta, who was the second speaker, gave a presentation on biomass and carbon storage.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Priya Darshni, Dr. Harmanmeet, Prof. Neha Gupta and Dr. Akanksha Koushal, faculty members, Deptt. environmental sciences. The welcome address was delivered by prof. PriyaDarshni, Head of Department of Environmental Sciences. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Professor Neha Gupta.
Principal Dr. SP Sarswat guided the event.
