FIEO organized a seminar on “Uttarakhand Export Promotion” in association with Exim Bank
DEHRADUN: FIEO, in association with the India Exim Bank, organized an interactive seminar on “Promoting Uttarakhand’s Exports”, on August 26, 2022, in Dehradun. The Honorable Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami was the Guest of honor for the event. Addressing the participants during his opening remarks, Hon. CM pointed out that Uttarakhand’s economic performance has shown strong resilience even as the global economy continued to face multiple winds opposites. He pointed out that the state’s strong export infrastructure, conducive business environment and strong export ecosystem have positioned the state as one of the best among the Himalayan states in the Niti Aayog Export Readiness Index 2021. He also stressed that the government of Uttarakhand remains committed to strengthening the business environment in the state and supporting exporters in their internationalization efforts.
The seminar also saw the enthusiastic participation of policy makers and senior government officials including Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary, Department of Industrial Development, AYUSH & MSME, Government of Uttarakhand and Shri Sudhir Nautiyal, Director – Industries, Government of Uttarakhand which highlighted the industrial development landscape of Uttarakhand. In the sessions that followed, interactive presentations were made on existing policy support and financing solutions available to exporters by representatives from India Exim Bank, ECGC, DGFT, FIEO and District Industries Centre, Govt of Uttarakhand .
In his introductory remarks, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Regional President (NR), FIEO, pointed out that Uttarakhand is rich in natural resources and has huge export potential. Mr. Kumar pointed out that Uttarakhand has witnessed rapid growth in its industrial sector and was among the top-ranked states in the Government of India’s Ease of Doing Business Index 2019-20, thanks to the proactive policy interventions of the government. state and central government.
In his welcoming address, Ms. Harsha Bangari, Managing Director, India Exim Bank, pointed out that Uttarakhand’s exports have witnessed remarkable growth over the past few years, thanks to the strong export ecosystem. Ms. Bangari also pointed out that Uttarakhand has a lot of opportunities to further improve exports. Ms. Bangari urged the business community and exporters in the state to capitalize on emerging global trade dynamics like the China+1 strategy and also use the incentives and policy support available to exporters, to harness the potential latent in state exports.
Mr. Manish Sharma Regional Manager (NR) proposed the vote of thanks, in which he mentioned that exports play a crucial role in the economy of a country, since they not only bring in valuable foreign currency, but also, at the same time, show the high capacities of which our people are endowed vis-à-vis the outside world. The prevailing scenario makes it relevant for all of us to explore new markets and diversify our product line. He further added that FIEO, as a true friend to the exporting community, stands by everyone to ensure a smooth and hassle-free operation of their business operations.
