Faisalabad University of Agriculture organizes seminar to mark World Milk Day

Faisalabad University of Agriculture (UAF) held a seminar and took a walk to mark World Milk Day with the theme Milk Safe Nation here on Wednesday
FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – June 1, 2022): Faisalabad University of Agriculture (UAF) held a seminar and walk to mark World Milk Day with the theme Safe Nation for Milk , here Wednesday.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Animal Husbandry in conjunction with Dairy Lac Limited and Dairy Cattle Farm Association in the Union Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Iqrar Ahmad Khan urged serious efforts to end milk adulteration. He urged dairy experts to increase the production per animal and also develop the milk by-product to tackle the problem of malnutrition. He said milk is the perfect food but the issue of mass-level adulteration is the real crisis where joint efforts would bring tangible results.
The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Professor Qamar Bilal, said the composition of the milk remains at 60% buffalo, 36% cow and 4% goat, sheep and camel. About 95% of the milk is sold in raw form while the rest of the milk is in pasteurized (UHT) form. He said the university was strengthening its links with industry.
Dairy Lac Limited Zonal Sales Manager, Attique Chishti, said, “Milk quality is the real issue and we need to promote the measures for a healthy nation. Dairy Cattle Farm Association President Shahbaz Rasool Warraich said the milk is rich in calcium and contains more than 10 essential nutrients that support overall health.
Dr. Muhammad Younas, Dr. Haq Nawaz, Dr. Riaz Virk, Dr. Yousuf Rehman and others also spoke.
