The school holiday dance workshops have been a resounding success, with local dancers enjoying three days of workshops with Ballet Workshops Australia. Dancers from Shannon’s Dance Studio Griffith, DiSalvatore Dance Academy and Jodi’s Dance Company all came together to learn from professional dancers, including Griffith’s Ellise Pellizzer. Miss Pellizzer is a former dance student of DiSalvatore, who now teaches locally. SDS graduate Ella Moon also came to visit, taking some time off from where she now trains full time on the Gold Coast. BWA’s Laura Bailey said, “It’s great for young students and former teachers to see their graduates go home and take part in such events, inspiring the next batch of hopeful dancers.” She added that the teachers were very impressed with the individuals and studios that nurtured the dance talent of Griffith and the surrounding area, and ensured a high standard. The workshops ended with a presentation among friends and family on the final day, with the dancers sharing short routines they had learned. Lily Dal Broi, Annie Villa and Learna Torresan received special awards, along with Tempi Halliburton. READ MORE: This was the second of the workshops Miss Dal Broi attended, and she said they were good opportunities. “I loved being able to attend BWA in my hometown. The teachers who all work in the industry were more than willing to share their industry knowledge and dance skills,” she said. Ms. Bailey took the opportunity to thank Shannon’s Dance Studio for the facilities used. “It’s wonderful to have so many dance studios in Griffith and we appreciate the opportunity to work with dancers from all over in one place,” she said.
