Are you an educator looking for summer training opportunities? Don’t waste it! the workshops are aimed at formal and non-formal educators with lessons for K-12 students that can easily be adapted for an adult audience. Each lesson includes group activity, independent practice, extensions, and additional activities tailored to Florida educational standards. Build your solid waste and recycling knowledge, learn how to follow lessons, and receive a copy of Don’t Waste It! after completing one of the workshops! There is also an additional opportunity to visit the new Keep Brevard Beautiful Organics Composting Facility or Waste Management Materials Recovery Facility.
Objectives of the workshop:
- Help current and future educators better understand municipal solid waste systems, landfills, material recovery facilities, recycling, and composting in our state.
- Increase your confidence in teaching about solid waste and recycling topics.
- Equip yourself with activities and resources to teach students these topics.
Two dates are available: Tuesday June 14 or Thursday June 23. Both are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
There are only 24 slots, so register early for one of the workshops to secure your spot. Register for this training on Eventbrite.
