BRCF Announces Summer Fellowship Workshops | News

The Blue River Community Foundation will be hosting two summer scholarship workshops this summer.
The first workshop will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on June 23 while the second will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 14. Both will take place at the foundation’s office at 54 W. Broadway St. in Shelbyville.
The workshop will include information about the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship, awarded to a student who lives in Shelby County, as well as other scholarship opportunities administered by the Blue River Community Foundation.
There will also be information on writing an expressive scholarship essay; maintenance do’s and don’ts; choose the ideal person to recommend the student; gather guidance for completing specific sections of the application; and hear suggestions from a panel of BRCF alumni regarding the transition from high school to college.
Interested students will only need to attend one session since both will cover the same information.
Registration can be completed at blueriver foundation.com. Click on the link at the top of the homepage on the Scholarship Workshops link under the scholarships tab.
Registrations will close on June 20.
Each session will be limited to the first 20 registered students.
The foundation has awarded more than $7.1 million in scholarships since 1994.
Donors make monetary rewards possible for the 92 active scholarship funds.
The 2022 scholarship recipients included 134 students who received more than $439,000.
