2022 IMechE High Performance Powertrains Seminar
Here’s what you can expect from the May seminar for all engineers involved in powertrain technologies.
Taking place every two years and returning to a face-to-face format since 2018, 2022 High-Performance Powertrains will take place at the Silverstone Wing on May 10, 2022.
Ideal for a vehicle powertrain event for motorsport and high performance applications, the home of UK motorsport is the perfect venue for the powertrain engineering community to meet, network, discuss common problems and learn about recent advances from their peers.
With high-performance vehicles used as a test bed for advanced propulsion technologies, the seminar continues to be a key event for vehicle engineers from all industries to get a glimpse into the future of transportation technologies.
This year’s program includes technical presentations, case study examples and lessons learned covering all types of powertrains, sustainable fuel development, successful application of hydrogen, powertrain development results hybrid powertrains and more; Here’s a look at some of this year’s presentations:
- Coryton and Cosworth will discuss recent discoveries in sustainable fuels, with insights from the Dakar Rally and lessons learned in designing a high performance road car engine
- MAHLE Powertrain, Viritech and Briggs Automotive Company describe the latest developments with ICE systems and fuel cells, including considerations for hydrogen systems and emission reduction techniques
- Ariel Motor, M-Sport and McLaren Automotive will present case studies and achievements of recent hybrid powertrain projects, including the system used for the WRC
- To finish, Williams Advanced Engineering and McLaren applied showcase the latest advancements in electric powertrains, including new optimization tools and technical details of McLaren’s new 800v inverter
“If you’re in the high performance business, it makes sense to keep your finger on the pulse of what’s new and the best. You never know what new ideas might come to you when you hear from other minds in the industry.”
Joe Jones, Williams Advanced Engineering
